Albert Lee Hodges of Woodland, Huntington
Albert Lee Hodges, 80, of the Woodlands, Huntington, WV, entered into Heaven on Saturday, January 1, 2011. He was born February 2, 1930 in Kanawha County, WV to the late Andrew Hodges and Goldie Bell Wiseman Hodges. He was retired from AEP after 46 years of service. He was a member and served as a Deacon of the Locust Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include his loving wife and the love of his life for 62 years, Anna Lois McCormick Hodges. As the song says, “If I get there before you do, we’ve had victory and tears. We’ve been blessed with many years and, with love, I’ll be looking for you.” Children: Gary (Brenda) Hodges of Lavalette, WV, Connie (Bill) Hendren of Lancaster, OH, Gail (Terry) Talbert of Huntington, WV, and Vickie Lynn Hodges (deceased). He is also survived by the grandchildren and great grandchildren that brought him many years of joy. Granchildren; Shane (Amanda) Belcher of Statesboro, GA, Kelli Belcher Pinan of Lancaster, OH, Kristen (Kenny) Rhodes of Wayne, WV, Eric (Heather) Hodges of Wayne, Lori (Billy Blakenship) Ramey of Lavalette, WV and Kane Pettry of Louisville, KY. Great Grandchildren, Stefan Pinan, Hillary Hodges, Chancelor Pinan, Kyle Belcher, Chantel (David Smith) Ramey, Shannon Belcher, Hunter Copley, Chantanna Smith, Ryan Rhodes, Jadyn Rule, Sam Hodges, Drew Rhodes and Addison Belcher; brother, Russell Hodges of Saint Albans, WV, brothers in law, Bernie, Rex, and Herbert McCormick; sisters in law; Revelle Smith, Edna Baker, Glenna Anderson, Laverne Bonhag and a host of nieces and nephews. Also preceding him in death are siblings; James, Lyburn, Yvonne, and Phyllis. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening January 5th from 6:00 p[.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Morris Funeral Home , Wayne, WV. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m.. Thursday, January 6, 2011 by Pastor Randall Robertson and Pastor Fred Ferguson. Burial will follow at the Hodges Family Cemetery, Poplar Fork, WV. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the youth programs of Locust Grove Baptist Church and the Wayne Baptist Church. The family also wishes that a special “thank you” be extended to the staff of Woodlands Health Care and Hospice of Huntington.
