Claude Argean Stephens of Prichard
CLAUDE ARGEAN STEPHENS, 79, of Prichard, W.Va., and Rt. 75, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2011, at Cornerstone Hospital in Huntington. He was born January 11, 1932 at Wayne, W.Va., a son of the late Menis and Violet Cyrus Stephens. He retired from Houdaille Industries and owned a construction and rental business for 45 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Larry Stephens; two brothers, Charley and Richard Stephens; and three sisters, Delores, Diana, and Beverly.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Faye Jones Stephens; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherri and Demetrius Apostolon of Hidden Valley, and Donna and Jeff Drown of Buffalo Creek; three grandsons, Tanner Drown, John and Zachary Apostolon; and one granddaughter, Madison Apostolon.
He is also survived by seven brothers, Adolphis (Barbara) Stephens of Lavalette, W.Va., Paul (Edith), Silas (Dorothy), Raymond (Barbara), and Dallas Stephens of Wayne, Michael Stephens of Columbus , and Donald Stephens of Rt. 75; three sisters, Glenna Williams of Columbus, Joyce (Kenneth) Jones of Huntington, and Helen (Paul) Weber of Dayton; and a special uncle, Noah Stephens of Lavalette.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Stephens Cemetery, Wilson Creek. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
