John David Fraley of Fort Gay
John David Fraley, 82, of Fort Gay died Jan. 8, 2012, in Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Ky., after a short illness. He was born April 21, 1929, in Louisa, Ky., the son of the late Albert and Effie Sammons Fraley. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Anna Elizabeth Dowden who died in 2005. He was a retired truck driver from K-Lee Trucking Co., a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was in the Korean Conflict, and was a member of the Masons Vinson Lodge and F&A.M. Survivors include his two daughters, Tammy Spears of Fort Gay and Joyce Cundiff of Somerset, Ky.; four sons, Doug Fraley of Louisa, Mike Fraley of Winchester, Ky., Shawn Fraley and Van Fraley, both of Fort Gay; four sisters, Angey Hammonds and Edith Hanshaw, both of Louisa, Rita Burchette of Circleville, Ohio, and Nancy Sue Cave of Bremew, Ohio; one brother, Leon Fraley of Leesburg, Fla.; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services were at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 10, in Young Funeral Home Chapel, Louisa, by the Rev. Frank Copley. Burial was in Wellman Cemetery, Fort Gay. Visitation was 5:30-9 p.m. Monday.
