Ervin Eldred Wooten of East Lynn

Ervin Eldred Wooten, 88, of East Lynn, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 1, 2012. He was born April 18, 1923 in Logan County, a son of the late Aley and Ethel Wooten. Three brothers, Burl Wooten, Earl Wooten, and Franklin Wooten also preceded him in death, along with infant daughter Gladys Wooten, son Aley Wooten, Jr., and stepson Kip Adkins. Ervirn served in the US Air Force during WWII. He was a retired steelworker and a member of the Church of Christ.
He leaves behind his wife, Melita Adkins Wooten; two sons, Danny Wooten and wife Jeanie of Piketon, Oh., Freddie Wooten of Huntington, W.Va.; two brothers Homer Wooten and his wife Maple of Wayne, Henry Wooten and wife Minta of Beech Fork, W.Va.; two sisters, Margalee Adkins of Wayne, Macie Adkins and husband Mack of Branchland, W.Va.; two stepdaughters, Yvonne Conn and her husband Terry of Man, W.Va., and Patty Adkins, and special granddaughter, Melita Brooke Adkins, both of East Lynn; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; and 14 step-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2011 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Elder Alex Spaulding officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday.
