Lucinda Ramey Dyer of Lavalette

Lucinda Ramey Dyer, 92, of Lavalette, WV, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Madison Park Senior Community in Huntington, WV. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 25, 2013 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, WV with Emory Osburn and Frank Taylor, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Community Memorial Gardens at Wayne. She was born May 18, 1920 at Taplin, WV, a daughter of the late James Harrison and Mary Frances Robinson Ramey. She was a homemaker and member of the Lavalette Baptist Church. Her husband, Remley “Rem” Dyer, sisters, Ruby Marcum, Olive Thacker, and Carlene Ramey and brothers Minuard, James H., Jr., Paul, Clovis and Gordon Ramey, also preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Janet Queen and husband, Newman “Cookie” of Genoa, WV; a son, Kenneth Dyer and wife, Ruby of Huntington, WV; four grandchildren, Sam (Shelly) Queen of Ridgeley, WV, Lara (Chris) Richardson of Genoa, WV, Caleb (Holly) Dyer of Wayne and Kyle Jacob Dyer and his fiancé, Kayla Queen of Knoxville, TN; three great-grandchildren, Andrea “Andi” Queen, Brady Dyer and Hunter Dyer; four sisters, Freda Crockett, Joy Burgess, Myra Lewis, and Brenda Lycans, all of Huntington, WV; two brothers, Bryce Ramey of Huntington, WV, and Doug Ramey of Wayne, WV; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at Morris Funeral Home. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Madison Park for their excellent care.
