Irvin Newton of Huntington
Irvin Newton, 65 of Huntington, WV, husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed on to a better place March 8, 2011. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, WV, by Ministers Bob Hayes and Danny Preece and his uncle Archie Carey. Burial will follow at Thompson-Crabtree Cemetery, Genoa, WV. He was born July 20, 1945 in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Emery and Orpha Carey Newton. Irvin was an avid outdoorsman and especially loved hunting. However, his first love was his son and his beloved grandchildren. His life was complete when they were with him. He also enjoyed attending church and was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Judith Ferguson Newton; a son, David Emory Newton and his fiancé, Sherry Mosley of Louisa, KY; two granddaughters, Allyson and Sydney Newton of Fort Smith Arkansas; a grandson, David A. Newton of Powhatan, VA; Sherry’s two children, Quaid and Cole Mosley; three uncles, Archie Carey, Pete and Martin Newton, all of Huntington, WV; to aunts, Zoe Smith of Normand, OK and Friedas Akers of Huntington, WV; several cousins and a very special life-long friend, David Rowe. Friends may call from 6 to 9 pm Friday at Morris Funeral Home. Pallbearers include David Newton, David A. Newton, Junior Carey, Jeff Priece, Brian Mowdy and Ryan Falls with two honorary pallbearers, David Rowe and Ronnie Napier. Irvin loved many and was loved by many. Special thanks to Larry Sawyers and Ronnie Napier who were instrumental in getting Irvin to his appointments in Lexington.
