Charles Bryant Switzer of Ashland, Kentucky
Charles Bryant Switzer, Sr., 74 of Ashland passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2011. Charles was born November 20, 1936 in Boyd County to Nellie Bryant Parks of Ashland and the late Edward H. Parks. He was a retired machinist for Armco Steel and proudly served his country for six years in the Army National Guard. He was a member of United Steelworkers Local #1865, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of Fred M. Gross Lodge F & AM #953. Survivors include a son Charles Bryant Switzer, Jr. and his wife Delena, of Dunlow WV; a daughter Sharla Switzer Craig of Culloden, WV; his mother Nellie Parks, of Ashland; a brother Michael Parks, of Ashland; two sisters Herma Kay Savage and Janet Smith both of Ashland; and three grandchildren Brian Warman, Jared Switzer and Hayley Craig. Funeral services will be conducted by Col. Vance Houston and Bro. Dan Turley at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum. Friends may call on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 from 6 to 9PM at Caniff Funeral Home.
