Glen Vernon Spence of East Lynn
Glen Vernon Spence, 92, of East Lynn, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 10, 2013. He was born December 28, 1920 at East Lynn, a son of the late George and Laura Spence. Also preceding him in death were three brothers, Wayne Spence, Noah Spence, and James Ambrose Spence, and two sisters, Gypsy Gillispie and Goldie Waugh. A 1939 graduate of Wayne High School, Glen proudly fought in WWII with the US Army. He retired from Cadillac in Detroit, Mich., and was a member of the Little Lynn Church of God. He leaves behind one sister, Doris Steele of East Lynn; one brother, Kennis Spence of Asheville, Oh.; special nephew Craig Moore of Lavalette, W.Va.; and a host of nieces and nephews too numerous to mention. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Pastor Otis Bowens officiating. Burial will follow in the Sellards Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
