Rev. Gallie Lee Robertson of Genoa
Rev. Gallie Lee Robertson, 102, of Genoa, WV went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 1, 2011. He was born August 16, 1908 in Wayne County, WV. He served as Pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church for 55 years which he founded in 1959. His main passion in this life was to serve his Lord and he spread the word to everyone with which he came in contact He started serving the Lord on September 1, 1928 and became a minister at the age of 21. He was also retired carpenter. A son of the late Bob and Marilyn Robertson, he was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 75 years, Mary Watts Robertson, two brothers John and Ezra, and three sisters Molly, Mary Elizabeth, and Eva. He was loved unconditionally and will be sadly missed by his only child, Ethel Robertson Harvey, with whom he made his home for the past five years; four grandchildren; Mrs. Harold (Barbara) Wilson, of Taylorsville, KY, Mrs. Jim (Bonnie) Arms, of Proctorville, OH, Mrs. Larry (Mary Lynn) Thompson of Genoa, WV, and Harold Curtis Harvey of Cincinnati, OH; nine great-grandchildren, Jackie Lee Adkins, MeLisa Davenport, Christy Adams, Beverly Luther, Michael Clary, Ben Thompson, Deana Akers, and Jennifer Smith and Dylan Thompson; and 17 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his special friend and caretaker Charlene Parsons of Genoa, WV. Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, July 3, 2011 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home. Burial follow in Community Memorial Gardens. .
