Goldie Ramey Spry of Lumberport, formerly of Wayne
Goldie Ramey Spry, 93 of Lumberport, WV, formerly of Wayne, WV, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at her daughter’s residence in Fort Gay, WV surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, WV by Elders Roger Maynard, Tommy Damron and Tony Clay. Burial followed at Queen’s Ridge Cemetery, Dunlow, WV. She was born September 19, 1917 at Parkers Creek, WV, a daughter of the late Cleveland and Nancy Vance Ramey. Goldie was a homemaker and member of the Echo United Baptist Church. Her husband Fletcher Spry, son Arlie Spry, sisters May Nelson, Dorlene Combs, Odessa Williamson, Vina Browning, Sarah Cooper, and brothers Archie, Denzel, Edmond, Owen, Steve, and Clinton Ramey also preceded her in death. Survivors include six daughters, Ina Fay (Otis) Watts and Yvonne (Doug) McQuaid all of Lumberport, WV, Cynthia (Nelson) Blankenship of Hernando, FL, Nancy (Roy) Moon of Fort Gay, WV Clista (Jim) Radcliff of Clarksburg WV, Mary (Joe) Wright of Waynesboro, GA, a loving daughter- in- law Glenda Spry also of Lumberport, WV; three sons, Bill (Edith) Spry of Fort Gay, WV, Cleve (Wilma) Spry of Valley Grove, WV, Richard Spry of Lumberport, WV; one sister, Martha Williamson of East Lynn, WV; a special sister in law, Dona Ramey of Harts, WV; 22 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and eight great- great- grandchildren. The family would like to send a special thank you to Hospice of Huntington, and to Dr. Brandon Webb.
