David Andrew Parsons of Carroll
David Andrew Parsons, 85 of Carroll passed away Tuesday July 24, 2012 at his residence. He was born on November 17, 1926 in Fort Gay to the late David and Della (Sexton) Parsons. David owned and operated the IGA in Pleasantville for many years. He was a member of the Shalom United Methodist Church, Pleasantville Masonic Lodge, Baltimore O.E.S., and Odd Fellows and was the Chaplain for the Rebekah’s. David volunteered for many years at the Fairfield Medical Center and was the 2006 Old Timers King in Carroll.
David is survived by his wife Joy (Potts) Kosch-Parsons; children Theatta (Oral Jr.) Taylor, David (Pam) Parsons, Donald (Mary) Parsons, Dana (Brenda) Parsons, Melany (Rick) Harper, Dean (Lisa) Parsons, Joe (Ada) Parsons; step children Kenny (Margie) Kosch, Lonnie (Donna) Kosch, Tad (Sue) Kosch, Tammy (Dick) Weekley; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren, 7 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents first wife Thelma (First) Parsons, grandchildren Tiffany and Matthew Parsons, and step son Laddie Kosch.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday July 27, 2012 at the Sheridan Funeral Home with Pastor Craig Arnold officiating. Interment will be in Hampson Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday July 26 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Shalom United Methodist Church.
