Dallas Dale Nelson of Fort Gay
Dallas Dale Nelson, 48, of Fort Gay, WV, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, WV after his long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church on Drift Creek with Elders Lucian Nelson and Buck Maynard and Roger Maynard officiating. Burial will follow at the Sol Perry Cemetery, Dunlow, WV. He was born November 14, 1962 in Lawrence County, KY, a son of the late Dallas and Dora Caldwell Nelson. He was a former mechanic. His grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles also preceded him in death. Survivors include his loving wife of 27 years, Lisa Lou Hamilton Nelson; a daughter, Elizabeth Jean Nelson; three sons, Dallas Michael Nelson, Derek Matthew Nelson, and David Milton Nelson; a granddaughter, Madison Rylee Nelson, whom he loved very much; four sisters, Bonnie F. Duncan and companion, Roman Troyer of Orrville, OH, Georgia Ruth Maynard of Wayne, WV, Mary K. Smith and husband, Gerald of Louisa, KY, and Edna Jean Rummell and husband Jeff of Gallion, OH; two brothers, Glen Charles Nelson and wife Betty of Huntington, WV, and William Earl Nelson and wife, Carolyn of Fort Gay, WV; and a host of very special nieces and nephews who were like his own children, and numerous very special friends. The family wishes to extend very special thanks to Dr. Kimmey and the staff of HIMG Oncology Department and to St. Mary’s Oncology floor and MICU staff for their special care.
