Frankie Salmons, Jr., 77 of Fort Gay passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012 at his home. He was born April 3, 1935 at Webb, WV. a son of the late Frank and Jessie Copley Salmons. He was a logger and member of the Webb Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by twins Larry and Florrie, great-grandchild, Kenya Salmons, brothers: Jarvis Ellis, Roland Salmons and Junior Coley and a sister Nancy Marcum. Surviving is his loving wife of 56 years, Vernie Dean Salmons, one daughter: Josie and Mike Perry of Fort Gay; three sons: Eugene and Willa Salmons of Fort Gay, Donald Mitchell and Malinda Salmons of Fort Gay and Kenny and Diana Salmons of Fort Gay; Step-mother Bertha Salmons, four brothers: J.T., Arbie, Bill, and Jimmy Salmons, six sisters: Sissy, Janie, Barbara, Betty, Linda Gayle and Shirley, Grandchildren: Franklin, Corey, Barry, Manda, Jason, D.J., Miranda, Ken, Michael, Katie, Brian, and J arnie, great-grandchildren: Brodgie, Kayla, Haley, Kierra, Olivia, Kerrigan, Jaylan, Brynna, Kaliegh, Lexi, Jamie, Jada, Chase, Tenisha, Hailey, Donnvan, Toshia, Kenna, Layken, Dean, Bailey, Brittney and Great Great: Branson, Riley, Jayden. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday at Webb Community Church, Webb, WV. with Rev. Kimble Copley and Rev. Everett Meddings officiating. Burial will be in the Webb Community Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Sunday at the church. Young Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
