Jasmes Elwood Webb of South Point

James Elwood Webb, 81, of South Point, OH, passed away Monday September 3, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, September 7, 2012 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel by Elders James Lambert, Jr., Charley Paulson and Wornie Meeks. Burial will follow at Spring Valley Memorial Gardens. He was born March 6, 1931 in Genoa, WV, a son of Claude and Alice Holland Webb. James was retired from ACF Industries and was a self-employed tree trimmer. He was also a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran and member of the DAV and Proctorville VFW. James was a member of Mt. Sion of the Regular Baptist Church. An infant son, Edward Webb also preceded him in death, along with three brothers, Earnest, Charles and Donald Webb. Survivors include his wife, Amy Frances Lycans Webb; three daughters, Sandra Johnson (Byron) of South Point, OH, Wanda Tomblin (Paul) of Huntington, WV, Roxane Neal (Greg) of Raleigh, NC; a son, James D. Webb (Lisa) of Chesapeake, OH; two sisters, Ruby Butcher and Anna McLaughlin, both of South Point, OH; three brothers, Bill Webb (Bobbie) of Genoa, WV, Hubert Webb (Shirley) of Wayne, WV, Rudolph Webb (Ann) of Crown City, OH; eight grandchildren, Jamie Wheeler (Ryan) Julie Lowe ( Jon), Matthew Johnson (Mary), Sara Swann (Justin), Randy Tomblin, Kyle Webb, Kristen Webb and Kolton Webb; nine great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Swann, Reagan Swann, Amelia Johnson, James Johnson, Macy Johnson, Claire Wheeler, Louden Wheeler, Brady Lowe and Erin Lowe; and a special friend, Frank Claus. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Morris Funeral Home, Wayne, WV. The grandson’s will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to thank Hospice of Huntington, along with Dr. Joye Martin and the Staff at the Huntington VA Medical Center.
