James Roy Corns of Ceredo

James Roy Corns, 92, of Ceredo, WV. passed away Monday, November 14, 2011 in Heartland of Riverview Nursing Home. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the Ceredo Church of Christ with Minister David Roach officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. James was born January 11, 1919 in Crum, WV. a son of the late William Riley and Nannie Wiley Corns. He was a retired telegraph operator from the CSX railroad. James was a member of the Ceredo Church of Christ where he served as an elder for over 50 years. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during WW II. Besides his parents James was preceded in death by the love of his life for 66 years his wife Lucille Hammond Corns. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law Jimmie and Diane Corns of Ceredo, WVa. and David and Karen Corns of Huntington, WV.; one granddaughter and her husband Mandy Brumfield (Craig) of Kenova, WVa., one grandson and his wife Michael Corns (Sara) of Palatine, Ill.; seven great-grandchildren Colton, Chloe, Keelie and Kohen Brumfield, and Abby, Cara and William Corns; and one sister Beulah Casdorph of Charleston, WV.
