Carmen Meade of Kermit
Carmen Meade 88, of Kermit, WV passed this life to the loving arms of Jesus at her daughter and son-in-law Estill Jarvis’s home in Paintsville, KY on Thursday, November 22, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Carmen was born in Martin County, KY on May 13, 1924 to Mont and Nancy Carter Cline who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death is her loving husband of 51 years of marriage, Lawrence Meade as well as sister, Ruth Collins, Brothers, Bert Cline, Conard Cline, and Scott Cline, children, Christine Meade and Lawrence Meade Jr., Step-sons, Herbert Meade and Ray Meade, Granddaughter, Angie Austin, two son-in-laws and two great grandsons. Carmen is survived by two sons, Clayton (Linda) Meade and Roger Meade both of Kermit, WV, Four daughters, Janie (Doug) Jeffery of Cardington, OH, Nadine Bowen of Lavalette, WV, Nancy (Estill) Jarvis of Paintsville, KY, and Bernice Webb of Virginia. Two step-daughters, Ruth Burton of Ohio and Louise King of Georgia also survived by her precious sister, Delilah Blankenship of Chillicothe, Ohio, and twenty four grandchildren, forty-seven great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren, and many step grand and great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews and friends to mourn her loss. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, November 26, 2012 at the Neely Branch United Baptist Church with Russell Ball and Daniel Perry officiating. She will be laid to rest along side her loving husband, Lawrence Meade at the Meade Cemetery at Marrowbone, WV. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home Warfield Chapel, Sunday after 4 p.m. at the Church until time of services at the church. The family is very grateful for Appalachian Hospice and her children and grandchildren for giving her such tender loving care.
Mom served her Lord and Savior faithfully since she was 13 years old and was a long time member of the Neely Branch United Baptist Church. Our loss is Heaven’s Gain.
