Melva Mae Steele of Wayne

Melva Mae Steele, 68, of Wayne, W.Va., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 2, 2010. She was born November 28, 1942 in Logan County, a daughter of the late John and Matilda Lambert. Her husband, Emery Steele also preceded her in death along with one daughter, Linda Sue Steele, and three sons, Emery Steele, Jr., Larry Joe Steele, and an infant son. Melva dearly loved Gethsemane United Baptist Church where she attended when able. Survivors include four daughters, Ruby Adkins and husband Toby of Prichard, W.Va., Anita Suzette Willis and husband Christopher of Lakeland, Fla., Frances Davis and husband Jay of Branchland, W.Va., and Kathleen Witt of Wayne; one son, Frank Edward Steele and wife Francis of Wayne; one sister Clarissa Clark and husband Earnest of Mulberry, Fla.; 12 grandchildren: Krystal Adkins, Kimberly Martin and husband Dennis, Jessica Rose DeMaris, Justin DeMaris, Michael DeMaris, Samantha DeMaris, Frank Steele, Wesley Davis, Cassie Davis, James Witt, Jason Witt, and Russell Witt; eight great grandchildren; and several loving nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors, whom she loved dearly Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Gethsemane United Baptist Church, Barboursville, W.Va. with Rev. Danny Dailey, Rev. Jonah Adkins, and Rev. Zach Bills officiating. Burial will follow in the Skeens Cemetery, East Lynn, with grandsons and sons-in-law serving as pallbearers.
