Ruby L. Ray of Sanford, Fla.
Ruby L. Ray, 85, of Sanford, Fla., passed from this life into the presence of our Lord on Friday, December 14, 2012. She was born Ruby Maxine Lovins in Fayette County, Pennsylvania on November 27, 1927 to Elmer and Viola Lovins. She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Elder Herbert W. Cade, her son Wendell Allen Cade, her husband Jabez Ray and her stepson Eddie Ray. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Tony Butera of Sanford; stepdaughters Eloise and Dave Lipson of Jacksonville, Fla., and Truby and Wilton Perdue of St. Cloud, Fla.; and stepsons Sylvester and Luann Ray of Melbourne, Fla., and Lambert Ray of Altoona, Fla. She is also survived by grandchildren Sean and Debbie Willis of Kissimmee, Fla., Chris Willis of Orlando, Fla., and Angela and Steve Rivers of Atlanta, Ga., Laura and Tony Turner of Kernersville, N.C., and Jennifer Butera of Orlando. Survivors also include great-grandchildren Crystal, Michael, Dustin, Jewelie and Brandon Willis, Shanna Chapman, Raegan and Ginger Marquez all of Florida and Pvt. Sean Willis, Jr. of Fayetteville, N.C. She was blessed beyond measure to have an extended family of great-great-grandchildren, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, step great-great grandchildren and many, many beloved nieces, nephews, friends and family. She loved her church family at Jordan Baptist where she had been a faithful member for many years. She also volunteered for Meals-on-Wheels and was active on the homeowners’ committee at Serenity Towers where she called home. Local Arrangements are entrusted to DeGusipe Funeral Home & Crematory, Sanford, Florida. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Jordan Baptist Church, 920 Upsala Road, Sanford, FL with Pastor George Sledd officiating. Graveside Services will be entrusted to Johnson Tiller Funeral Home, Wayne W.Va. and will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 20 at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Wayne W.Va. with Elder Kenneth Cade officiating.
